This is a great movie for all ages to enjoy. Although Anne Hathaway tends to only star in movies where a makeover is the main plot, this one works without it being the typical makeover movie. This is a balanced trend with Meryl Streep playing another "Corella devil" character. Both of these re known actresses are comfortable with each of these roles which creates a movie with great performances and a well deserving 3.5 out of 4 stars from me.
It has a great plot with the image today of what is beautiful and the concept of wearing brand names. This movie is a production of clothes and is result of a lovely down home in your skin beauty. I urge all women, since this movie does not relate to the audience of men, to take their daughters or friends and see The Devil Wears Prada.

Essay 4: An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth is a movie that was directed by Davis Guggenheim and released August 31, 2006. It is a documentary of Al Gore's political reign and his view of Global Warming. His main goal in this movie is to get the message out about Global Warming. He wants to open his audiences eyes to all the aspects of global warming; the cause and effect, examples, solutions, etc.
This movie follows Al Gore to various locations, all around the world, where he lectures slideshow presentation on Global Warming. There are other scenes that take the movie inside Al Gore's personal life. This movie ties the issue of Global Warming to everyday life using a number of statistics and facts about Global Warming and of Al Gore's life happenings.
My opinion is this movie is a 4/5 stars. It is a very controversial movie since it is dealing with Global Warming but it instills the problem of Global Warming into the audience. I have watched this movie about 3 times, all for educational purposes. Every time I have watched it, it still shocks me. The statistics make my jaw drop, continuously.
An Inconvenient Truth is a very great movie that shows a personal relationship with global warming. This movie has humor, it is astounding, and quite uncomfortable to watch - in a good way!

MLA ...grrrr
I understand why we cite our works, why it absolutely needs to be done, why its against the law and why we use MLA, but I still do not understand why it has to be so complicated!
I have been learning about MLA citation since probably freshman year in high school. From then on I have got beaten with the MLA stick. I am pretty comfortable using it, at least for the most part. But it still makes me mad and frustrated so easily. It just seems to me that because people have to use citations so often, why wouldn't they form a easier or at least "for dumbies" way to do it. Actually maybe i should look into that, I am sure there is a For Dumbies : MLA citation book somewhere!!!

Perfume does NOT make you Jessica Simpson : )
Once I saw a commercial for the Venus razor blades. The commercial and advertisements slogan was "like a goddess". From right there, I was hooked, I want to be a goddess! My attention turned, and I saw the flashing colors, the gorgeous girls, and the shine of their skin. At that single moment in time, I thought my skin could look like that and I could become that gorgeous girl because I would be shaving with VENUS blades.
I, then, added it to my mother's grocery list and they came home to me that next day, as if it was a huge gift that would transform me into something sexy. It turns out, they gave me the worse razor burn I have ever had. My mother, then preceded back to the store to get my revitalizing lotion, a generic kind, that took my "goddess" looks away.
Someone might say that perfume gives you a sense of sexy confidence. Which I would agree with, yet, it will not make you look gorgeous or it will not make you BE sexy. The reason a typical person buys perfume is because it reaches and enhances one of our senses; our smell.
You can see with this ad, as Jessica Simpson uses her looks and her sex appeal to sell her product. But the end result is the judgment we establish while smelling the perfume. If we look at this ad and the next day go to buy the perfume and it smells like cat pee, I am sure one would rethink the product. A great smelling product may, in your opinion, make you feel sexy, but it will not give you sex appeal, it will enhance your smell.
This ad does not sell perfume, it sells the name, the line Of Jessica Simpson.

Esaay 3 : Jessica Simpson Advertisement
The ad I am choosing to write about is located in the November 2008 issue of a well known magazine called Cosmopolitan, or others may just call it Cosmo. The advertisement is Jessica Simpson's new perfume, Fancy. It is a 2 page spread showing Jessica Simpson laying seductively in bed. Her hair frames her face and her brown eyes are decorated with flawless makeup which makes them stand out.
She lays there naked with bubble gum pink stain sheets wrapped around her captivating body. Her back is arched and her right arm is raised above her head enticing her audiences that this perfume makes you look irresistible.
There are 6 words through out the ad. They read from left to right, each in a different but similar font. The words are "Introducing (plain gold font) Jessica's (cursive J with bigger type) FANCY (all capitals and a bold soft pink color). On the second page reads Available At Macy's ( not in caps but the same font as introducing).
The product, what I feel would be the most important part, is in the lower right corner taking up about 1/8 of the page.
I feel this ad appeals the eye and means that with her perfume you could be not only smelling gorgeous but looking gorgeous. I feel like I would buy this product because I want to feel sexy, and so does every girl. It is a strong ad but I would do it differently. I would not put Jessica in bed, rolling around in sheets, I would have put her in a breath taking gown and made her look Fancy, incorporating the name and making the product STICK a little more.

The Definition Of Beauty
Formal Definition: the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind from: Dictionary.com (click to see more definitions)
Extended Definition (my own) : Beauty is a person or thing (being physical or emotional) that creates a feeling of intimidation and discouragement in the viewer.
My Personal Testimony: For example, When I see a model on television or in magazines I find myself feeling unhappy with my own body (discouragement). I started to point out the bad things about myself and the oh so flawless things about the model.
Another example comes from a piece of artwork I examined at the Ball State Museum of Art. It was a huge wall painting and it had captured my eyes. It made me feel intimidated by it. I was intimidated by a piece of artwork, laugh now, but its because it was so intense and I felt like my publications of art were dirt compared to it. I felt like my artwork could never be showcased in a museum.
